Meet Xavier.
Cranbourne's private studio barber.
RUCI.BARBER is the private home studio of Xavier Csuka-Knight, a Cranbourne master barber with 7+ years behind the chair. One client in the room. No double-booking. The cut is finished when it's right, not when the timer's up.
Why a home studio.
Xavier opened RUCI.BARBER in Cranbourne in 2022 after years on the floor of high-volume shops in Melbourne's southeast. The maths in those rooms always worked the same way, six clients an hour, a cut every ten minutes, no time to actually consult. Plenty of skill, no room to use it.
The home studio at 1/34 Clairmont Avenue is the answer. One chair. The client books the hour, not the cut. The consultation is paid for. The hot-towel finish is the standard, not the upsell.
The clientele is now a mix of locals from Cranbourne, Berwick, Clyde and Narre Warren, most arriving from Google or word of mouth, most coming back every three to four weeks. Saturdays fill up fast, the rest of the week is a quiet, deliberate craft.
Bookings go through Square. Reference photos welcome. First-time clients receive $20 off any service.
Four principles.
- 01
One chair. One barber.
No double-booking, no waiting room, no hurry. The hour is yours from the moment you sit down.
- 02
The consultation is the cut.
Face shape, growth pattern, your morning routine. Every detail informs how the cut starts, so the brief is never rushed.
- 03
Craft over volume.
A high-volume shop measures itself in clients per day. RUCI measures itself in cuts you don't have to fix at home.
- 04
Yours, not a template.
Reference photos welcome, but the cut is finished to suit you, not photocopied off someone else's head.
Three ways into the chair.
Every service is a 1-on-1 private session with Xavier. Hot-towel finish included. First-time clients receive $20 off automatically through Square.
