Booking
-
How do I book an appointment?
All bookings go through Square, tap any 'Book An Appointment' button on this site. You can also DM @ruci.barber on Instagram or call 0433 232 406 if you'd prefer a quick conversation first.
-
What's your cancellation policy?
Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time at no charge. Cancellations or reschedules with less than 24 hours' notice incur a fee equal to 50% of the booked service. No-shows incur a fee equal to 100% of the booked service. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows may require a deposit or prepayment for future bookings. Exceptions may be made for genuine emergencies, illness, or unforeseen circumstances at the studio's discretion. Appointments can be rescheduled or cancelled using the booking confirmation email sent at the time of booking, simply follow the link provided to manage your appointment.
-
Do you take walk-ins?
No, every appointment is booked through Square. The studio is by appointment only so the consultation and the cut both get the time they need.
-
How far in advance should I book?
Booking 1–2 weeks in advance is recommended, especially for appointments after 3pm, as these times tend to fill quickly.
-
Can I book over the phone?
Square is the cleanest path, the calendar shows live availability and locks the slot in. Call 0433 232 406 if you'd rather chat first; bookings still get logged through Square.
First-timers
-
Do first-time clients really get $20 off?
Yes. New to Ruci? Select any service from the 'First-Time Services' menu on the Square booking page and $20 is taken off automatically. Applies once per client.
-
Should I bring a reference photo?
Absolutely. A photo or video reference is the fastest way to land on the right look. If you don't have one, no stress, the consultation will get us there.
-
What happens at my first appointment?
You'll be greeted at the studio door, sit straight down for your appointment (no waiting room), and start with a thorough consultation. From there it's the cut, beard work if booked, and a hot-towel finish. Total time matches the service you booked.
-
Will I be billed if I'm running late?
Square holds the slot for you. If you're running 10+ minutes late, give a heads-up so Xavier can adjust the brief, late arrivals can shorten the session, not extend it (the next booking is locked).
Services
-
Do you cater to all hair types?
Yes. Whether it's a clean fade, a textured crop, scissor work or a more classic finish, every cut is tailored to your hair type and face shape. No templates.
-
Do you do skin fades?
Yes, skin fades and skin tapers are my bread and butter. If you're after something specific, feel free to have a photo or video prepared to help me paint a better picture in my mind to ensure I can achieve the best final result for you.
-
Do you cut kids' hair?
Older kids and teens are welcome, same appointment time, same consultation, same finish. Reach out via DM or phone if you're unsure whether the format suits a younger client.
-
Can I book just a beard trim without a haircut?
Yes, the standalone Beard Trim is a 30-minute session. If you want both, the combined Haircut & Beard Trim hour works out cheaper than booking them separately.
-
What products do you use?
I tend to favour premium water-based and plant-based products that are designed to deliver exceptional results without compromising the health of your hair and skin. Every product I stock is carefully selected and personally used by me, so I only recommend products I genuinely trust and stand behind. My focus is always on giving you the best possible finish while maintaining the long-term health and condition of your hair. Using high-quality professional products allows me to achieve a cleaner, more refined result without the dryness, irritation, or damage that lower-quality products can often cause.
Pricing
-
Why is RUCI more expensive than a regular barber?
You're paying for an hour of one-on-one time, not a 10-minute production-line cut. The consultation, the personalised approach, the hot-towel finish and the no-double-booking rule are baked into the price, not optional add-ons.
-
Do you accept tips?
Tips are appreciated but never expected. The price you see in Square is the price, the appointment is fairly compensated either way.
